The Friend Request
I do not call you servants (slaves) any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing (working out). But I have called you My friend, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father. ~John 15:15 AMP
Sending friend requests on social media is important. It’s in our nature to want to be liked and accepted by others. Friend requests are one way we fulfill that desire.
The Friend Request
Friends are treasured gifts from God. As we become friends, we get to know each other. Whether it is by reading social media posts or by spending time together, we become acquainted. From there, we build lasting relationships.
By listening to our friends and by being available to them in their time of need, our intimacy level grows. As we pray for and with them, a bond of trust forms. Likewise, we grow closer to Jesus as we see our prayers answered. We know He has been the one who has cared and been available to meet our needs.
Jesus calls us friends. Our loving Savior offers us the most sacred friendship in all eternity. He loved us so much that He laid down His life for us.
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. ~John 15:13 NKJV
That’s the friendship we need the most. Friends may come and go, but friendship with Jesus Christ lasts forever.
The Most Important Friend Request
If you haven’t accepted Jesus’ friend request, you can by inviting Him into your heart and receiving His gift of eternal life. Paul tells us how.
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ~Romans 10: 9-10 NKJV
This is certainly the most important friend request you will receive. Your life hangs in the balance. So, say yes to Jesus. Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior, and He will be your closest friend.
Make sure you have accepted Jesus’s friend request.
Father God, thank You for sending Your one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to open the way for me to become Your child. I confess with my mouth, “Jesus Christ, be the Savior of my life today.” In Jesus’s name, amen.
