Seasons
As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.
~Genesis 8:22 NIV
Of all the seasons, spring is my favorite.
Enjoy the Seasons
The trees show off with tiny buds popping out all over their branches. Daffodils lift their heads toward the sun. Birds return from their winter refuge, singing their glorious songs and welcoming the change of seasons. And more sunlight abounds so we can enjoy the beauty around us.
God promises us that the seasons will come and go as does the night and the day.
Genesis 8:22 establishes God’s law of seedtime and harvest. Then, in Genesis 9:11, God tells Noah, “I establish My covenant with you; never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” Additionally, God sets the rainbow in the sky as a sign of His covenant. When we see a rainbow, this reminds us that God keeps His promises.
Plant in Faith
In the spring, we break up the fallow ground in our gardens and ready them for the seeds we will tuck into the rich soil. Additionally, we plant in faith, believing God will bring a harvest at the right time.
We also plant spiritual seeds in our hearts. By reading and meditating on God’s Word, the Spirit takes what is planted and produces the fruit of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
~Galatians 5:22 NIV
What is your favorite season? More importantly, what seeds of faith are you planting in your heart?
Ask the heavenly Father to reveal any area where the soil of your heart needs tilling and preparing to receive God’s Word.
Father God, thank You for providing the lovely seasons for my pleasure. Thank You also for spiritual fruitfulness. May my heart overflow with the fruit of the Spirit as I share from the abundance of faith You have given me from Your Word. In Jesus’ name, amen.
