Psalm 23 reminds us that when we walk with God, we can have peace in times of turmoil, uncertainty, and darkness. Let’s pray and bring it all to the Lord.
Father God, I have never been here before, and I am afraid. Be with me. As You spoke to the waves, “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39), speak peace to the anxious storm in my heart.
Touch my physical body with healing and my mind with the mind of Christ. Your Word says You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I purpose to turn my eyes away from our circumstances and set my eyes on You. I claim the peace offered by Christ Jesus, my Prince of Peace.
Father God, hide me in the cleft of the Rock. Cover me with Your peace that passes understanding. Show me how to take my thoughts captive in a fearful season so I can see You as my provider, healer, Good Shepherd, and hope. Be my protector, defender, and friend. Shine Your light into the darkness, exposing truth and dispelling fear.
I am called to be holy. So. set me apart. See the blood of Jesus on the doorposts of my heart. Deliver me from evil. May harm pass over me, leaving me untouched. Be my God of all comfort, my constant companion, and source of everything good because You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way.
Lord, strengthen my faith and guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. May my security not rest in my preparedness but in the power and faithfulness of the miracle-working God. And as the enemy desires that I bow in fear before him, instead strengthen me to stand firm and crown You as our Savior, Lord, and King. In Jesus’ name, amen.
