God’s Creation
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
~Romans 1:20 ESV
God’s creation always draws me closer to Him as I stand in awe of all its beauty. The Word of God backs up this statement.
As I glance at the moon, I ponder how this great light source has been around since the beginning of creation. Likewise, a stroll through the woods fascinates me as I ponder the majesty of trees that soar toward the sky. The flowers that spring up from the ground always astonish me as I observe the splendor of each pedal, not to mention the countless varieties of flowers. God has created a stunning world and placed us amidst it so that we can appreciate the miraculous wonders of His creation.
Honey Bee
Another one of the wonderful works of God is the honey bee, which beats its wings 11,400 times per minute. As a result, the rapid movement creates a distant buzzing sound as it collects pollen from the flowers. Interestingly, it is also the only insect that produces food humans can consume. In fact, to create just one pound of honey, a bee colony can travel 55,000 miles and produce up to one hundred pounds annually. Hence, the honey bee is truly God’s awe-inspiring, wondrous work.
Mighty Ants
Have you ever observed a procession of ants as they go about their natural abilities? The fascinating strength of these tiny creatures is fascinating to watch. Ants can carry fifty times their body weight in their jaws, which amazes me. However, another fact boggles my mind. The total biomass of ants is equal to humans. Scientists estimate that there are 1.5 million ants on the planet for every human being. It’s a fact we should ponder as we sit on the grass during a picnic. God has given us these tiny creatures to remind us that even the smallest of His creations can accomplish great things.
What things in God’s creation fascinate you and draw you closer to God?
Heavenly Father, I am grateful for allowing to be a part of Your creation. I pray that every day, I take a moment to appreciate the beauty and intricacy of Your creation. May I never overlook it but care for it with love and devotion. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen
