God Parts Our Seas
Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today … The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.
~Exodus 14:13-14 AMP
Once, during church worship, God spoke to my spirit, reminding me that He parts our seas whenever we face a situation that appears to have no way out. For example, when the Israelites had the Red Sea before them and the Egyptian army pursuing them, God was helping them, nevertheless. I try to pay attention and take in all God speaks to me. So, I looked up the story of the Red Sea parting. It is such an inspiring portion of Scripture and full of God’s love.
Do Not Be Afraid
Easier said than done. When I thoughtfully consider who God is, my fear melts away. I’m always busy doing something, maybe too busy. So, I’ve started a quiet and still “Gratitude Time” in the morning before I start my day to make sure I am grateful for all God has done. I’ll lift my requests after, but first comes gratitude. It’s a strengthening and encouraging way to start the day. God does so much for me, and He fights for me. Holding all that in my heart gives me peace.
And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”
~Exodus 14:15-16 AMP
Stand Still and See
After banishing fear, standing still, and seeing God’s salvation, the Israelites needed to act and move forward. God made the way clear and on dry ground amid the sea. The dry ground description touches my heart because it shows a personal detail God did for His people.
God is able and powerful enough to part our seas of adversity. Additionally, He is willing and faithful to do so because He loves us.
Think of a time or situation God brought you through on dry ground, helping you when it seemed there was no way out.
Father, thank You for all You do for me and all the loving care You provide us. Please help me see Your work and move forward when You make a way, knowing You are with me. In Jesus’s name, amen.
