God Is Never Too Busy
God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.
~Exodus 2:24-25 NIV
Do you ever feel as if God is not listening? That He’s too busy to care about our struggles? The Israelites may have felt that way, too. After more than four hundred years under the oppressive rule of Egypt, they may have felt as if their prayers fell flat. Yet, God heard their cries, remembered His promises, and cared about their suffering. The same goes for us. God is never too busy.
He hears our questions.
How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
~Psalm 13:2 ESV
God keeps track of our tears.
You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?
~Psalm 56:9 ESV
He knows our thoughts before we do.
Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
~Psalm 139:4 ESV
God remembers His promises and will always be there for us.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
~Isaiah 41:10 ESV
He will never withdraw His love.
I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
~Jeremiah 31:3 ESV
His grace and mercy are always available to us.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
~Hebrews 4:16 ESV
God is actively concerned about us. He looks at us with compassion.
When [Jesus] saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
~Matthew 9:36 ESV
God creatively provides for us.
So [Elijah] went and did according to the word of the Lord. He went and lived by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.
~1 Kings 17:5-6 ESV
God always has a plan for our good and His glory.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
~Romans 8:28 ESV
If you’re feeling isolated and alone, admit your feelings to God. He will meet you in your wilderness. God hears, remembers, and cares.
Lord, my troubles feel like a wall closing me in and keeping joy out. Meet me in my suffering. Restore my hope. Guide me back to wide-open spaces. Amen.
