Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.~Psalm 119:105 NKJV
The cornstalks waving in the breeze were over our heads. The smell of fall was in the air as we made our way through the maze. No looking over the top or around the corner to see ahead. The challenge was to choose the right path.
Our walk with the Lord is similar. We don’t know what’s around the corner or over the next hill. All we can do is follow the path the Lord has for us. We have His word as a lamp and a light to guide us along the way.
All through the maze there were signposts giving us the opportunity to choose the right direction but sometimes we still followed the wrong path. God gives the Holy Spirit who gently nudges us and directs our steps when we allow Him to.
In our spiritual walk the enemy loves to place obstacles in our way and whisper, “you will never make it.” But God has a plan for each of us.~Glenda Shouse, contributing author to Love Knots: Stories of Faith, Family, and Friendships
The path cut through the cornfield was rough in many places, so we watched our steps carefully to avoid tripping. In our spiritual walk the enemy loves to place obstacles in our way and whisper, “you will never make it.” But God has a plan for each of us. Psalm 37:23 reminds us that God takes delight in showing us the way, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.”
Friend, are you following the path the Lord has for you? Ask Him to show you the way.
Have you ever visited a corn maze? How does this remind you of your faith-walk? Share your experience.
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me the path You have prepared for me. Strengthen my faith to follow You one step at a time.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
