Glenda Shouse: Beautiful Music
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
~Romans 12:6 NKJV
I love listening to an orchestra.
All the instruments playing together, produce beautiful music. Each one has its unique sound, the oboe, trumpet, violin, and kettle drums, blend perfectly. They producing rich but different tones that flow together in a symphony.
This reminds me of the body of Christ. Each person is gifted differently, and each has a place in the body. It does not matter what gift the Lord has given you; all His gifts are needed and each is important to Him. He has uniquely gifted you as part of His orchestra.
In 1 Corinthians Paul writes, “Now the body is not made up of one part but of many” (1 Corinthians 12:14 NKJV). And in verse 18 we read, “But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body every one of them, just as He wanted them to be.” The instruments in God’s orchestra are arranged in a particular order, fashioned to produce the beautiful melodies He wants us to enjoy. The parts of God’s body are arranged according to His plan. Whether you are a pastor, an usher, or a nursery worker, or serve in another way, your gifting has an important role to fill in the body of Christ.
As we join together and use our God-given gifts, we become a symphony of His grace and love. You are an important part of God’s plan for His church.
Have you found your place in the body of Christ?
Heavenly Father, help me to use my giftings to serve the body of Christ and demonstrate Your love.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
