Father’s Voice
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
~John 10:27 KJV
A little boy moved to a new neighborhood. He looked for friends, found some, and played all day long. As dinner time approached, his father looked for him and called his name. The boy heard his father calling and told his friends he had to go home. His father’s voice was deep and bass, and he could hear him quite easily.
The Voice
The boy’s friends, however, did not hear the father’s voice. While running home, the boy pondered why they could not hear his father. The boy ran as fast as he could and jumped into his father’s loving arms. His daddy lifted his little boy and carried him home.
The father in this story represents our heavenly Father, and the son represents every one of us. We have a Father in Heaven who loves us. Therefore, we are not fatherless children.
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. ~Psalm 68:5 KJV
No matter what we face in this life, our heavenly Father is right next to us, and He carries us safely in His loving arms whenever we need Him. The little boy’s friends could not hear the father’s voice. They represent those who do not know the heavenly Father’s voice. It is our mission to share with others so they can be part of the family of God, adopted by the Father who loves even His lost ones.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage, again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ~Romans 8:15 KJV
God’s Voice
If we hear the Father clearly, we should make it our mission to help others find Father God and hone their ears to hear His message. But if we are friends outside of the Father’s embrace, God loves us too and is ready to receive us.
For God so loved the world [insert your name here] that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever [that’s you] believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. ~John 3:16-17 KJV
Ask God to help you always hear His voice.
Heavenly Father, help me to hear Your loving voice. Keep me safe in Your eternal embrace. In Jesus’s name, amen.
