Diane Virginia: Family Founded in Love
Sisters we are, though not of blood,
God set His hand upon us, then tied a chord of love,
An enduring friendship, our adoption is truer than true,
As the voice of Naomi to Ruth erases life’s rue.
Husband of mine, once enticed by romance,
Strengthened through trials and joys, as a synchronized dance,
Hand-in-hand we navigate the maze,
God’s unseen hand unites us and sets our spirits ablaze.
Son-of-our-heart, son and daughter of blood,
You make our family complete,
As you lean on us to compete in this game called life,
Though the wisdom we offer is seldom complete.
Four-footed family, you’ve stilled our worried paces,
Through slobbery kisses and tennis ball races,
But more often than not, it’s your eyes ablue,
and your paw that nudges, that see us through.
God of heaven, You’ve adopted our family,
Through Your Son, who paid sin’s price in finality,
That our family bond may be founded in You,
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, who makes us new.
