Maria Henriksen

Hi! I’m Maria T. Henriksen, author of the novel, Not Again and I’m excited to share my book with you. As a mother of boy/girl teenage twins and a substitute of all ages, I am immersed in the lives of young ones. Not Again addresses many of the challenges teens face today in a profound and sometimes witty way. During the revisions of my novel, I experienced a tremendous amount of physical pain and stress. As a result, I found it necessary to employ coping mechanisms to get me through that difficult season of my life. In turn, I incorporated those same techniques in my novel. My hope is that readers in various stages of life, not just teenagers will be transformed by the inspirational messages. Thank you for allowing me to share my baby with you and I hope you enjoy my novel as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Many blessings! Maria

About Not Again: Christina De Rosa holds a deadly secret. As an innocent teenager, she survives a terrifying  sexual assault. Afterwards, Christina searches for ways to function as a “normal” teenager. Meanwhile, her spiritual journey causes internal conflict, resulting in guilt and shame. A chance encounter with her longtime crush, Avery Evans, sparks a fire she cannot extinguish. He offers the security Christina craves. However, in her quest for internal peace, she must make decisions: Will her nightmares of the assault become all-consuming? Will she give her heart, body, and soul to Avery Evans? What are safe, moral boundaries? Will these discoveries lead her to a renewed way of life? Find out if true love triumphs in this edgy, faith-based young adult page-tuner, set in the 1980s. Not Again is NOT your typical Christian coming of age story. Fierce faith does not come without a fight. Prepare for heartache, self-harm, traumatic events, real romance, as well as scripture in these pages.

Hi!  I’m Julie Lilly.  I am the writer of Prayers of a Ragamuffin Warrior and one of the chief cooks and bottle washers at Gift of Thorns on Facebook.

When asked about who I am, I am quick to tell you that I am a worshipper, a servant, blessed wife, step-mom of four adult children, caregiver, retired chiropractor, writer and most-importantly, a forgiven daughter of God.

With thirty-plus years in healthcare, I am passionate about seeing the broken come to receive healing and find wholeness in right-relationship with the Creator. Through my own multiple injuries, PTSD, a traumatic brain injury and other health concerns, I have found the generosity of God to be true to His Word, in turning all things together for the good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

For those entrusted with a thorn in the flesh, it is one of my greatest joys to see the discovery of the treasure the Father hides tucked in among the thorns.  God is good and His mercies endure forever!

I pray that we will come together as a body of believers who will honor the Lord and encourage one another toward wholeness, spiritual growth and mountain-moving faith.  Thank you for allowing me the honor and privilege of being one of your servant leaders here at VineWords.  I pray that you will come, be refreshed, be encouraged in your faith, be an encourager to others, and grow in your faith and love for God! My husband, Bryan, and I will be praying for you! God bless you!  ❤️

For more encouragement visit my websites. At Prayers of a Ragamuffin Warrior, you will find encouraging articles with prayers. And check out Gift of Thorns, where you will find powerful and life-changing input from great teachers and writers who are passionate about pursuing God.

Hi, I am Shanda Neighbors. Food is my love language. I prefer serving large crowds, but I’m a natural over-feeder and will often supply too much nourishment no matter the crowd size. I was born and raised in the Bahamas. That has determined both my internal clock and thermostat. I struggle with being on time, and I’m not trusted to set the temperature anywhere. You can always find me outdoors…over 60’s and sunny…probably in a jacket. Anyone who asks me to go skiing hates me. Period.

Additionally, my island upbringing has afforded me the ability to completely pardon Eve. I too enjoy gardening and picking produce, and my husband eats all I offer him. No questions. Eve only messed up the planet before we did. I won’t judge.

I am a work in progress. My family has been largely responsible for helping this work along. Chief among them is my husband who has demonstrated the power of love and patience. Outside of Jesus, I’ve had no greater support or advocate than this beef-and-potatoes loving man. We share two daughters who have brought us closer to the Lord and to each other. They are our treasures and they have enriched our lives with wisdom, wonder, and play.

I am proudly a citizen of heaven, and I’m passionate about truth and the reputation of my King. That translates to my speaking and writing. I write about Him on blogs, in books, songs, and poems. I speak of Him at events, teach about Him in classes, or wherever the opportunity presents itself. God is good. He is with us. I can’t stop talking about my Jesus! I want to live amazed by His love, glory, power, and goodness. It is my great honor to share Him with as may people as possible.
