Ed Chappelle: Father’s Voice
There was a little boy who moved to a new neighborhood.
He looked for friends, found some, and played all day long. As it got close to dinner time his father looked for him and called out his son’s name. The boy heard his father calling, and told his friends he must go home because his father was calling him. His father’s voice was a deep sounding, bass voice and he could hear him quite easily. However, the boy’s friends could not hear the father’s voice and while the boy was running home, he pondered why they could not hear his father. The boy ran as fast as he could and he jumped into his loving father’s arms. His daddy lifted his little boy, and carried home.
There are three points we can learn from this story.
- The father in this story represents our Heavenly Father and the son represents every one of us. We have a Father in Heaven who loves us. We are not fatherless children. Psalm 68:5 KJV reads, “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.”
- No matter what you face in this life your Heavenly Father is right next to you and He carries you safely in His loving arms whenever you need Him to. I pray that you can hear the voice of our Heavenly Father when He calls to you. John 10:27 KJV reads, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
- The little boy’s friends could not hear the voice of his father. They represent those in the world who do not know the voice of the Heavenly Father. It is our mission to share with others so they can be part of the family of God, adopted by the Father who loves even His lost ones. Romans 8:15 KJV reads, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage, again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
If you relate to the little boy who hears his father clearly, make it your mission to help others to find Father God, and to hone their ears to hear His message. Receive your Heavenly Father’s love today.
If you feel you are the friend who is outside of the father’s embrace, please know that Father God loves and receives you. He is calling to you now, and He is willing and ready to take you into His loving embrace. Receive the Gospel message found in John 3:16-17 KJV, “For God so loved the world [insert your name here] that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever [that’s you] believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
How does knowing you have a Heavenly Father who approves of you make you feel?
Heavenly Father, help me to hear Your loving voice. Keep me safe in Your eternal embrace.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
