Boot Camp

Boot Camp

VineWords Devotions and More

Paul’s plan to Timothy for the church encourages him in a time when he is facing much suffering. It is inevitable. There is no way to get around it. Those who desire to be a registered, proven member of Christ’s army, will suffer. To endure suffering, it is necessary for us to embrace it. We must go through suffering if we want to experience growth and God’s anointing. We will not see oil until the olive is squeezed and pressed to produce that which is already inside. The Lord uses suffering with a purpose for His glory, but the key is not giving up. To endure is to suffer patiently; to experience without giving in; to undergo a tough situation.

Charles E. Maldon Jr.: The Master’s “Right Tool”

Charles E. Maldon, Jr.: This Is Your Moment

VineWords Devotions and More

As he peered out, the reflection of light on the ocean created the appearance of a million shimmering diamonds. He focused on the sound of the engine coming from the rear of the speedboat as he heard the captain’s baritone voice say, “Two minutes out, get ready everyone.” Jake knew this was it. Was he ready? Or was the sweat on his brow just nerves. He knew it was now or never–if he was going to break free of his fear of the ocean, he had to jump. This was his moment…

The Fruit of Faithfulness

The Fruit of Faithfulness

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. ~Galatians 5:22-23a CSB “Come say ‘Hello’ to Mary.” Billy smiled as I approached their table. I was about to see the fruit of faithfulness.   I was sure she did not remember me. Her brain tumor had taken this once-talented artist and turned her into a shadow of her previous self. But as I greeted Mary, she shared the same gracious smile … Continue reading →

KITE TROUBLE Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. ~Psalm 1:1-2 ESV Don’t crash but listen was a lesson Jeffery learned the hard way.  The March day was brisk and windy, making it perfect for flying a kite.  “Dad, can you … Continue reading →
