Jesus saves. That’s right, friends. He died on the cross and rose from the dead, victorious over death, Hell, and the grave to redeem YOU! He LIVES today, and He is ready to walk with you now and into eternity. In fact He has prepared a place in Heaven to receive you.
If you want to know more about how to make the decision to ask Jesus into your life, I encourage you to read my testimony and the testimony of others about how they met the Lord Jesus.
If you are saved, please consider sharing your testimony in the comments section for our friends to read. God bless you, friends!
My Salvation Testimony
I got saved in college. I went to a Christian university to find out if Jesus was real. An acquaintance told me to pray and then read through the Gospel of John. I did so, and when I got to John 10:37-38, I bowed the knee.
I knew God existed; I just did not know Jesus was One with the Father and Holy Spirit. This passage in John 10 made sense to me. I felt it would take more faith to NOT believe the historical account of the miracles Jesus performed, than to believe them. Who EXCEPT God could perform these miracles?
So, Jesus’ words in John 10:37-38 was the tipping point for me. I prayed to Jesus for the first time right then and there at my bedside. I asked Him how I could invite Him into my life, and I felt He was prompting me to take Communion.
I looked around, wondering how I was going to take Communion with no wine or bread. I got a cracker and a glass of water and told the Lord it was the best I could do.
I took Communion all by myself, thanking Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross to forgive me of my sins, and for allowing His body to be pierced through to redeem mine. I spoke passages in John 3 to Him and I also read Him some of His miracles.
For the first time ever, I felt the tangible presence of my Savior in an indescribable way, surrounding me with peace and love. I felt clean, new, and invigorated. That was Saturday, November 5th, 1979 (I hope this is accurate–I’m going by memory.)
The next day was birthday. I had gone to church every Sunday since I had been in the university, and every Sunday we took Communion. That Sunday, I did so with understanding, and again, Jesus overwhelmed me with His tangible presence.
From that day until now, I have been His. He gave me the verse, “Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by they name, thou art mine. (Isaiah 43:1b).” Without going into detail, I suffered persecution from an unsaved family member who wanted me to denounce my faith.
I kept a crucifix a preacher had given me in my pocket at all times. I knew it was a symbol and had no powers in and of itself, but it helped me to keep my focus on Jesus, and what He had accomplished to save humanity.
Today, that crucifix hangs over the door frame of my home. It is a reminder that I belong to Jesus, and I am His ambassador, called to share the Gospel message to everyone who is willing to hear. It also reminds me that no matter what comes, I am first and foremost, Jesus’ possession.
Song of Solomon 6:3 reads, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine:he feedeth among the lillies.” Jesus is to me more than any other; He is my Savior, my Redeemer, my Beloved, and my Bridegroom, and I am His Love, the Bride of Christ.
I am more in love with Jesus now than when I first got saved. I hope I can share His love effectively, because He is the best Friend, Savior, and King anyone could ever have. Please consider asking Him into your heart today.
